Need to cover a stubborn stain for good? HB42 PS1 is a premium white shellac primer-sealer engineered for permanent stain blocking. The updated 2025 formula is whiter and more opaque than earlier versions, drying to a fast matt finish that hides tough marks in just one coat.
Use it indoors on woodwork, plaster and skirting, or as a spot-primer outdoors. It's especially effective on slick, hard-to-paint surfaces like tiles, varnish, gloss paint and even glass. The shellac base locks in bleeding knots and sap, and gives a strong enamel holdout on porous materials so your topcoat goes on smoother and lasts longer.
It also stops odours from smoke, fire damage, pets and nicotine from coming back through. Once cured, the film is non-toxic and hypo-allergenic, so it's safe to use in kitchens and other spots where it might brush against food packaging.
